Kentucky Derby 2010 Horses Contenders

If you're figuring your bets, be aware that jockey Calvin Borel is  riding Super Saver this year. Borel has won two Derby races, and kicked  ass this weekend at Churchill Downs.

"Super Saver is a lot like this one (Hurricane Ike); he tries every  time," said Borel. "As a jockey, all you can do is do your best, and as a  horse, all you can ask is that they do their best. When that happens,  you've got a chance."

Unfortunately for Derby fans and bettors alike, the race’s favorite,  Eskendereya, was scratched due to inflammation in the left front leg.   Eskendereya’s injury knocked the arguable favorite out of the 136th  Derby, but the race goes on with these likely contenders.

"Just like Strike the Gold, he’s a  late-developing horse," Zito said. "He ran in Florida … ran the right  races. Of course, Strike the Gold finished second in the Florida Derby  and this horse won.

"I  like his chances, I really do. … It’s good to have a horse this week  training the way he does."

The prices for our handicapping picks are extremely reasonable  and the performance of our selections will blow you (and the  competition) away.  Currently, selections for a full 10-race card only  cost $7.50!  In addition, if racing is in progress, you only pay for the  picks of the remaining races ($0.75 a race)!  Special events may be  priced differently.
