Kathryn Bigelow¡¯s Film ¡°The Hurt Locker¡± Got Six Awards

the hurt locker poster 201x300 Kathryn Bigelow's Film Quite a few women got the Oscar award. Kathryn Bigelow is considered to be the fifth woman that was nominated for the Oscar. She went head-to-head with her ex-husband James Cameroon who created the greatest film of all times known as Avatar.


Kathryn Bigelow is the first female who won the best directing Academy Award, and now can be noticed in the record books.


To create a gritty war drama known as The Hurt Locker, Kathryn spent about $15 million. The Hurt Locker as well as were nominated for nine awards. As result the film created by Katheryn  got  6 awards while James Cameroon's Avatar gathered only 3 awards.


Katryn was accompanied with her former spouse who was sitting behind her during the whole ceremony and rose to his feet to applaud when the name of his wife was read out by Barbra Streisand.


When she arrive on stage,  the overwhelmed 58-year-old said the following words: “There’s no other way to describe it, it's the moment of a lifetime”, before dedicating the statuette to the men and women in the military “who risk their lives on a daily basis”.


The Iraq-based thriller is the winner in the best picture category.
