The Blair Witch Project came out of nowhere to scare the $%!@ out of us and rake it in at the box office, then followed that surprise success with a sequel that … didn’t.
The new trailer helpfully reminds everyone how the first Paranormal Activity ended ― badly and scarily! ― and then shows some nice, HD-like faux-night vision shots of a nursery, a backyard and a kitchen.
The problem isn't the trailer, it's the movie they've decided to show it in front of. If you're over the age of 12, this may be the least scary horror movie trailer you've ever seen.
The sequel to last year's surprise supernatural hit, which made over $151 million worldwide and was made on a $15,000 budget, is directed by Tod Williams (The Adventures of Sebastian Cole, The Door in the Floor) and to this point a cast list has yet to be officially listed. The official synopsis has not been released yet.
The movie Paranormal Activity 2 is directed by Tod Kip Williams. But Oren Peli who directed the first film is still attached as producer and he's quite confident:
