The fifth season of the NBC competition kicked off tonight with Howie Mandel joining Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne on the judging table in LA.
The New Directions clan turned out to be talented and netted an extended standing ovation from the audience and the judging panel (even Piers, who referred to it as inspiring and emotional), in what might have been the first serious contender for the championship to emerge so far this season.
For anyone who missed those auditions but still wants a chance to have their act seen by producers, two options are available. The act can upload a video through the pre-registration form, or it can attend one of the spring auditions. New audition cities for early 2010 have already been announced on NBC’s website. The cities and dates are:
- Los Angeles, California: January 23-24
- Dallas, Texas: January 30-31
- Orlando, Florida: February 13-14
- Atlanta, Georgia: February 20-21
- Portland, Oregon: February 28-March 1
