Speculation has been Miami or New England would comprise that opponent, but that exec doesn't think the league wants to use the Patriots there. And after the Dolphins beat the Jets in both games last year, you just know Fireman Ed and his pals would be licking their chops to catch them right off the bat.
Just hours after reports of Jason Taylor agreeing on terms of a contract with the New York Jets – a bitter rival of the Miami Dolphins — the 2010 schedule came out Tuesday evening announcing the Dolphins home opener game against Taylor and his new team, Gang Green. But fans will have to wait until week 3 to see the Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium.
That’s the highlight of Miami’s 2010 schedule, which begins with a Sept. 12 game in Buffalo at 1 p.m. The season features three prime-time games, down from the four scheduled for 2009, when the Dolphins were coming off an 11-5 AFC East Division-winning year.
The Dolphins non-division opponents this year include the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.
