Pune: Indian screen legend Amitabh Bachchan, who has recently been embroiled in several controversies that includes Bandra-Worli sealink issue, CWG brand ambassadorship and Abhishek's video exclusion from Earth Hour, seemed unperturbed as he addressed a group of students in Pune sharing his pearls of wisdom. Speaking about the changing face of Indian cinema, the entertainment industry and anecdotes from his student life, the actor enthralled everyone who attended the event.
Addressing the students, the actor said, "Cinema is one of the biggest contributors for national integrity in our country. When we go to a theatre to watch a movie, we never see who is sitting right next to us. He/She can be a Hindu, a Muslim, or can be of different caste, different colour, but still we all watch it together."
He went on to say that cinema as an art does a lot of cultural identification work which is imperative for a democratic nation. Through cinema, the youth get informed and educated about India's heritage and its legacy.
Amitabh affirmed that cinema has reached a respectable mark and he feels very proud to be a part of it. On being asked by one of the students about his dream role, Big B said, "I hope there is a dream role for me. Let's say somewhere, someone is making a role for me, which will be as challenging as ever, and that will be it."
Speaking before the students, the actor shared his experiences of school days. He emphasized the importance of getting up early before sunrise. "Incredibly terrible it might sound but the benefits are really valuable life long," Amitabh observed.
But what's curious is the fact that there was no mention of questions related to the recent controversies.
