Entertainment Weekly: Travis, how are you feeling walking up to the big Idol performance?
Travis Garland: I'm feeling excited, anxious, nervous, but mostly ready. Ready is the strongest feeling I'm having right now.
Perez Hilton: He's ready. I've been going to rehearsals. It's so amazing. They're just perfecting it now.
“It’s been so much. I’m just trying to take it all in, trying not to get too distracted by everything else that’s going on,” Garland told MTV News during rehearsals for his “Idol” performance.
Here’s what we know about him:
- His first solo album will be released this year.
- His first single is titled “Believe.”
- He hails from Lubbock, Texas.
- He was part of the boy band NLT with Glee star Kevin McHale.
- He’s about to see his dreams come true.
Garland obviously said yes, and “it all kind of kicked off from there.” Although Garland is still a relative newcomer to the music business, he isn’t so sure he would’ve had what it takes to compete on “Idol” had he gone the traditional contestant route.
*Garland was a member of boy band NLT, known for songs like “She Said, I Said.” NLT also included Kevin McHale, the wheelchair kid from “Glee.”
The talent doesn’t stop at singing and dancing for 20 year old Garland, he also plays piano, co-wrote “Believe” and produced his own vocals for the track.
Travis Garland’s debut single “Believe” was produced by Nate “Danja” Hills. Travis Garland not only sings and dances. He also co-wrote “Believe” and plays the piano. Watch tonight’s American Idol and decide for yourself whether Travis Garland should be a solo pop star.
