Former glamour model Katie Price a.k.a. Jordan turned superhero when she saved her best friend after she was thrown off a horse and sustained injuries during the accident.
Jordan, 31, had been enjoying the spring sunshine on an afternoon ride with her stylist friend Melodie when disaster struck.
Melodie was thrown off her horse and hit the ground with a thud. She collapsed in a heap and was left writhing in agony.
Within seconds, quick-thinking Jordan had leapt off her mount and rushed to the rescue.
She put Melodie in the recovery position and called for help, and arranged for the Surrey Air Ambulance to fly Mel to nearby East Surrey Hospital, where medics discovered she had sustained lower back damage.
“Katie was shocked when she turned around to see her mate hurled on the ground in a heap. It was a very nasty fall,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
“But she didn”t panic, not even seeing how much pain her friend was in. She just calmly called the emergency services and arranged for paramedics to come and help Melodie.
“Katie has ridden horses all her life and has seen her fair share of riding accidents. Nothing phases her,” the source revealed.
The accident happened near Jordan’’s home at Woldingham, Surrey. It took the helicopter crew eight minutes to get to the scene and a further five minutes to reach the hospital in Redhill.
“The pair were having such a lovely day riding near Katie’’s home until Melodie was injured. She suffered excruciating lower back injuries,” the source said.
“Katie cleared her diary for the afternoon to be by Melodie’’s side and pushed back her day’’s modelling shoots until doctors told her Melodie was in a stable condition,” the source added.
Although Jordan, star of her own ITV2 reality series What Katie Did Next, kept a cool head, the incident did leave her shaken. She headed back to her country pile to get herself together before resuming filming.
