Singers Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal have been nominated for a maximum number of awards at next month's Ivor Novello Awards for song writing.

Allen, 24, has been nominated for her number one hit 'The Fear', which was chosen for best song musically and lyrically and most performed work, reports the BBC.

Dizzee Rascal, 24, is nominated for best contemporary song for Bonkers and best album for Tongue N' Cheek which he co-wrote with Nicholas Denton.

For the album award, Dizzee Rascal competes with Paolo Nutini, for Sunny Side Up, and The Duckworth Lewis Method's eponymous cricket-themed concept album.

Dizzee Rascal's Bonkers is up for best contemporary song against Daniel by Natasha Khan – also known as Bat For Lashes – and In For The Kill by La Roux.

Allen's The Fear takes on Broken Strings – co-written by James Morrison who duetted with Nelly Furtado on the song – and The Promise, co-written by a team of seven writers and performed by Girls Aloud.
