Texas Motor Speedway Weather, Herald Sun Supercoach, Bay News 9 Weather

SATURDAY on the Texas Motor Speedway turned into a huge letdown, with  rain washing out two cup?practices and the O’Reilly Auto parts 300  Nationwide Series race, they can only hope that Sunday does not?suffer a  similar fate. The Cup race, the Samsung Mobile 500 happens today and  the rescheduled Nationwide?Series takes place today too.

It is the first time in the Texas Motor Speedway history that the Sprint Cup as well as the nationwide races takes place  on same day. Last day's rain pushed the start of the race to 8:00pm  Sunday, after regularly scheduled Samsung Mobile 500 (starts at 2:00pm).

Texas  Motor Speedway Weather:This weekends NASCAR race, the Samsung Mobile 500, is set to start today at 3:00pm ET at the   Texas Motor Speedway. This weekend's weather  in Forth Worth, Texas has  hampered the race schedule. Last nights  Nationwide Series race along  with Sprint  Cup Series training runs had to be canceled due to rain.  Today's  forecast also shows rain as a possibility.

. This is Stewart's first pole as an owner/driver of the Stewart-Haas   racing team also. The big news today will be how the cars perform with  the new "blade" rear spoiler as the two practice sessions were canceled  yesterday due to the rain. This new spoiler will be the unknown today  and could cause a lot of drivers problems due to the lack of track time  with the new configuration. So, if the weather permits, NASCAR will have  a full day today at the Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

“I was really frustrated with the car,” Earnhardt said. “It still  frustrates me, but if I think back, the old one did too at times. It was  just so nice to have all that downforce, that’s really the only thing  that I think is kind of lacking now, but I think the (car’s) balance is  getting better with spoiler versus the wing.”
