The singer Lee DeWyzes the favorite to win the title of American Idol. The aspiring artist, 24-year-old from Illinois, was the favorite of the judges last night, during the most recent edition of the singing contest
Here is the Lee Dewyze Hallelujah video of his performance on American Idol Top 3 Season 9 on Tues. May 18, 2010. He delivered a standout performance of the Leonard Cohen classic which was a Judge's Choice selection, picked for him by Simon Cowell.
DeWyze brought out a gospel choir ― a much more effective complement than the bagpiper he trotted out earlier in the season ― and afterwards admitted that he was initially nervous about singing the song. The song selection was made by judge Simon Cowell, who very well may have ensured DeWyze’s entrance into the finals.
Ellen declares that the performance was simply "amazing." Address Randy as the moment "the greatest Dewyze for me." Kara assures me Dweyze "What is this presentation is everything" and "the heart of this season." As expected, Simon Cowell was extremely satisfied with the chosen because it pays tribute to his favorite candidate.
It's a tricky song to pull off, as it requires a slow vocal build and a kind of emotional containment that isn't generally associated with talent shows. Here's a clip of DeWyze performing "Hallelujah," along with some other versions.
Ellen says that acting was simply "awesome." Randy titles as "Lee Dewyze biggest moment." Kara Lee Dweyze says "is what this show is all about" and "the heart of this season." As expected, Simon Cowell is delighted with his election as praising their favorite candidates.
