Cheryl Cole has softened her stand on taking Ashley back, it has emerged.
She is reportedly willing to give him another chance but not until August.
"It's my way � or no way," the X Factor judge, 26, is believed to have told the footie, 29.
Cheryl reportedly told pals she first wants to get over with her tour with the Black Eyed Peas and Ashley's commitment to the World Cup.
And friends reveal she is making up her mind for a second innings with the footballer.
"However much she tries, Cheryl just can't let go. She wants to give him another chance," the Daily Star quoted a pal, as saying.
The insider added: "She felt under pressure in the UK because she knew all her loved ones wanted her to dump Ashley but her feelings have mellowed since she's been in LA.
"They're back in contact and are texting each other a lot."
