Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package PS3 has been Released

Infinity Ward have announced that Modern Warfare 2’s Stimulus  Package, which was released earlier this month on the Xbox 360, will be  released during May on the PS3 and PC platforms.

That's not even all. When all these updates hit tomorrow on May 4th,  we'll also be flipping the Double XP switch for the first time, ON ALL  PLAYLISTS, FOR ALL PLAYERS! So when you jump online you'll be earning  twice as many XP for your kills and objectives to help you finish off  that Prestige you've been working on or, for all you level 70s, the  deciding factor to take the leap into the next Prestige.

This pack will be available to download on Xbox LIVE starting on March  30. PS3 and PC owners will have to wait a bit longer. No price for the  content was listed.

Here are the map descriptions:

Bailout – a multi-level apartment complex

Storm – an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery

Salvage – a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars

Crash – a war-torn urban environment (CoD4)

Overgrown – features a massive dry creek bed (CoD4)

Alongside the new maps — Bailout, Salvage, Storm, Crash, and  Overgrown — the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2 is getting a  couple of new multiplayer playlists: Stimulus (only new maps), Stimulus  Hardcore, and Team Tactical (TDM, Domination, CTF, Demolition for 6-8  players). Also, double XP on all playlists!

The Stimulus Package features five maps: Crash, Overgrown, Bailout, Salvage and Storm. Crash and Overgrown are taken from the first Modern Warfare and updated for the sequel. For more info, check out Crecente’s review of the DLC on the Xbox 360.

Tomorrow is all  about adding even more mileage to your Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer,  giving you all new locations to play, new playlists to play them on, and  Double XP to make it all that much sweeter. I look forward to seeing  all of you online!
