17th Mar, 2010: The Nandi Awards for the year 2008 were given away on Ugadi at a function in Lalitha Kala Thoranam. The CM Rosaiah, and the Minister For Information & Broadcasting J Geeta Reddy were present at the ceremony.
Nandi Awards were presented for the movies released in year 2008. Obviously Arundathi swept most of the awards. Other notable movies are Gamyam, Neninthe, Nachavule, Ready. Chief minister Rosaiah presented the awards to the winners.
Nandi Natakotsavam Awards is also given every year by the Andhra Pradesh government for social, mythological and poetic Dramas.
Best Actor : Ravi Teja (Nenu Intha)
Best Actress : Swathi (Ashta Chema)
Best Comedian : Brahmanandam
Best Film : Gamyam
Best Villain : Sonu Sudh (Arundhathi)
