Stella McCartney’s Fashion Show Was Star Studded with a Little Help from Daddy
During the 2010/2011 two-season show of Stella, Paul McCartney was so proud of her daughter that he also took the time to strut at the catwalk and thank the fans of the 38-year old designer. With Paul is his partner, Nancy Shevell. Paul's presence at the shows of Stella is only one of the ways how they display their strong family ties.
But it was not only the Beatles musician who was present at the said event. There are also other familiar faces including the first lady of California – Maria Shiver and her daughter with Arnold Schwarzenegger – Christina. Both of these ladies said that it was their first time to attend a show in Paris.
Twiggy, the infamous front woman of Marks and Spencer was also present at the said event. This is not to support just the designer but more so, to support Carly (her daughter) as well since she is a part of the design team of Ms. McCartney.
Gemma Arterton nearly quit Bond role
Gemma Arterton had almost quit her role as a Bond girl in Quantum Of Solace when a movie executive disparaged her “common” accent.
The star was cast as agent Strawberry Fields in Daniel Craig's second 007 outing in 2008.
However, she almost walked out when one American film chief warned her that if she carried on talking in her native British accent she would only ever be cast as a maid.
“I said, ”Hello! I”m playing a Bond girl who works for the British consulate!” I was so annoyed I nearly walked out… I went through this whole thing of, ”I”m common compared to all these Oxford graduates. I don”t know anything,”” the Daily Star quoted her as telling GQ magazine.
The actress' accent almost cost her a role in upcoming blockbuster 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' – after director Mike Newell ordered her to lose her twang and speak “posh”.
And now, the 24-year-old beauty is working with a voice coach after moviemaker Stephen Frears advised her to seek professional help during a recent audition.
“I went into this meeting and he went, ”Oh dear, oh dear. Why do you speak like that?” And I went, ”It’’s where I”m from.” He said, ”Well, you are going to have to sort that out,”” added Arterton.
Sienna Miller in Robin Hood-style tax campaign
British actress Sienna Miller has become the face of a new Robin Hood-style drive to tax the banking system.
The ad campaign for Oxfam witnesses the 28-year-old Miller donning a green mask.
"It is time for the Government to be like Robin Hood. This could be the world's first popular tax," the Daily Star quoted the charity's Max Lawson, as saying.

Zo? Saldana loves sex!
Avatar actress Zo? Saldana has admitted that she “loves” sex and “can”t live without it”.
The 31-year-old, who starred in Avatar as Neytiri, made the confession in the new issue of Essence magazine, reports The Daily Telegraph.
“Love it, love it, love it, … Can”t live without it,” she declares.
“I love sex. I love skin. I don”t believe the body is something to hide.
She adds: “I think in American society we”re messing up our kids by taking away the education on and awareness of our sexuality and replacing it with violence, guns and video games – and we”re breeding little criminals.”

“Kourt and I came to Miami to revamp Dash, and that’’s exactly what we did!” the New York Daily News quoted Khloe, as stating on her blog.
She added: “We worked our little tushies off and were so excited about the store’’s fab new makeover that we thought what better way to celebrate than by getting one of our own. Dash has never looked so good! LOL.
“It literally took ALL day to get airbrushed but it was so worth it.”
The photo shoot will also be aired on an upcoming episode of their E! reality show 'Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami'.

The contestants sang Frank Sinatra songs on a night mentored by Harry Connick Jr. Aaron Kelly who performed "Fly Me to the Moon" for Sinatra Week hasn't gained favor of the audience this week.
Both Aaron Kelly and Casey James have been in the bottom three the last couple of weeks. ?The judges seem to like Aaron, but then again some of the fans prefer Casey James to the other contender.

Lost Finale Explanation
Everything that you saw in the show happened. Starting from the plane crash, moving through the smoke monster to the protection of the island and others. In simple words, all the flash forwards and flash backs of the show was in fact the reality and things that happened.
Confusing series right? That is what the producers wanted. Each character which died in the show in fact died in the real universe to be then transported to a single point in purgatory. The final aim was the after life, so everyone had to die to reach that point including those who managed to escape the island.
Now coming back to our real life, the question is if fans are happy with the series ending. Some are more confused than ever while some are quite happy to have predicted the right meaning of the show.

Obama Memorial Day 2010
Obama Memorial Day 2010, Barack Obama is skipping the Memorial Day tradition of the President laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns. It is not unprecedented. George H. W. Bush was on the campaign trail in 1992 and scheduled to speak at an American Legions event in Maine on Memorial Day.
Ronald Reagan was in the midst of a contentious economic summit in 1983 and so sent George H. W. Bush on his behalf.
Barack Obama wants to go on vacation — the second vacation he has had since oil began spilling out of the gulf. That's okay though because the oil spilling is George W. Bush's fault, just like all the new dead soldiers are George Bush's fault too. Why should he care?
The troops don't like him no matter how much the White House propaganda machine tries to gin up staged pictures of Obama voting soldiers fawning all over him. But see the tepid response from cadets at West Point or talk privately with lots of soldiers and sailors and you get something else — they fundamentally do not respect their Commander in Chief.
There was no question they respected and loved Ronald Reagan. Same with George H. W. Bush, the last veteran of World War II to serve as President.
Obama? Not so much. And what does the left do when you point this out? They equate dead soldiers to political props/ Seriously.
By suggesting this President, in the midst of a war, should probably be going to Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day instead of taking his second vacation in a month, conservatives are somehow suggesting he use dead soldiers as political props.
After eight years of the left demanding publicity of flag draped coffins returning to Deleware from overseas to use as political props against George W. Bush, it is more than a little humorous to have the left now accuse the right of doing the same. It also ignores a fundamental point leftists too busy calling our soldiers "war criminals" and our dead soldiers "political props" miss — going to Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns has nothing to do with using dead soldiers as political props and everything to do with a Commander in Chief who seems to not like the military showing some basic respect to the men and women, alive and dead, who have actually kept us free.
Obama may talk about the government in the first person, but the men and women lying at Arlington know differently.

Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Mich., won the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after strutting confidently in an orange and gold bikini, wearing a strapless white gown that resembled a wedding dress and saying health insurance should cover birth control pills.
When asked how she felt about winning the crown, she said, “Ask me after I’ve had a pizza.”
Fakih, a Lebanese immigrant, told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths. She moved to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York, where she attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003.
Pageant officials said historical pageant records were not detailed enough to show whether Fakih was the first Arab American, Muslim or immigrant to win the Miss USA title. The pageant started in 1952 as a local bathing suit competition in Long Beach, Calif. Fakih told reporters she sold her car after graduating college in Michigan to help pay for her run in the Miss Michigan USA pageant.
She said she believed she had the title on Sunday after glancing at pageant owner Donald Trump as she awaited the results with the first runner-up, Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard.
“That’s the same look that he gives them when he says, ‘You’re hired,’” on Trump’s reality show “The Apprentice,” she said.
“She’s a great girl,” said Trump, who owns the pageant with NBC in a joint venture.
In a moment that was replayed during the broadcast, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in her gown because of the length of its train. But she made it without a spill and went on to win.
“I did it here, I better not do it at Miss Universe,” she said. “Modeling does help, after all.”
Fakih replaces Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton and won a spot representing the United States this summer in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant. She also gets a one-year lease in a New York apartment with living expenses, an undisclosed salary, and various health, professional and beauty services.
During the interview portion, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should because it’s costly.
“I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it’s a controlled substance,” Fakih said.
Woolard handled the night’s toughest question, about Arizona’s new immigration law. Woolard said she supports the law, which requires police enforcing another law to verify a person’s immigration status if there’s “reasonable suspicion” that the person is in the country illegally.
She said she’s against illegal immigration but is also against racial profiling.
“I’m a huge believer in states’ rights. I think that’s what’s so wonderful about America,” Woolard said. “So I think it’s perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law.”
“The Office” actor Oscar Nunez was booed as he asked the question and asked the audience to wait until he finished the question before they reacted. The panel of judges came up with the questions themselves.
Miss Virginia USA Samantha Evelyn Casey was the second runner-up, Miss Colorado USA Jessica Hartman was third runner-up, and Miss Maine USA Katherine Ashley Whittier was the fourth runner-up.
Most of the field of contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia were eliminated just after the pageant began and the entire group danced onstage to “TiK ToK” by Ke$ha.
A panel of eight judges, including NBA star Carmelo Anthony, Treasure Island casino-hotel owner Phil Ruffin and Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, were judging the girls throughout the night.
After 15 contestants strutted in swimsuits, five were eliminated. Another five were eliminated after the evening gown competition.
Miss Nebraska USA Belinda Renee Wright won the Miss Congeniality award, roughly one week after her father was killed in a farm accident. Miss Alabama USA Audrey Moore won Miss Photogenic after an online fan vote.
The pageant aired live to East Coast viewers on NBC.
The competition, which is not affiliated with the Miss America pageant, was hosted by celebrity chef Curtis Stone and NBC correspondent Natalie Morales.

New John Lennon ‘Bed-in for Peace’ pics surface
The pictures, snapped by Life photographer Gerry Deiter, are being showcased in an exhibition in Coventry Cathedral, West Mids.
Deiter was the only photojournalist who was permitted to capture the couple for the full eight days of bed-in at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel.
The pictures show the couple writing and recording their song 'Give Peace a Chance'.
“Gerry Deiter was the only photojournalist there the entire eight days, with complete access," the Telegraph quoted Nick Chevasse, the Cathedral’’s tourist director, as saying.
He said: “He was on assignment for Life magazine, but his story was bumped in favour for one about Vietnam.
“The photos were never published, they never ran, so Deiter hid them away.
“This is why many of the images are not familiar, even to Lennon fans – they have never been seen before by anybody.
“He captured the celebrity visitors, the action and intimate, behind the scenes moments between John and Yoko.”
In one photograph, John strums his guitar, while Ono chats to 16-year-old Gail Reynard, who had scaled the hotel’’s fire escape and pleaded with the couple to let her stay.
Gail was given the original handwritten lyrics for Lennon’’s peace song, as she was present at the spot throughout the eight days.
She said: “When I first saw the images from the exhibition, I was carried straight back to that amazing time.
“They started to unlock details that I thought I had forgotten.”
