Ohio State Shooting: 1 Dead, 2 Wounded at OSU Shooting ― This morning, there was a shooting at Ohio State University maintenance building. According to university officials, Ohio shooting left 1 dead and 2 wounded. However, the suspect for Ohio State shooting was already taken to the custody. While at the news conference, the OSU's director of public safety Vernon Baisden said that Ohio State University shooting is really a tragic event. He sends his thoughts to all of the families.
University Police Chief Paul Denton on Tuesday identified the suspect as 51-year-old Nathanial Brown, a custodial employee. Denton says Brown recently received a poor performance evaluation, but he declined to say if that was a motive for the shooting.
No students were hurt.
Police did not release any names. Investigators were trying to determine the suspect’s motive, Denton said.
Ohio State, the nation’s largest university, said no students were hurt and that classes would be held as scheduled.
The maintenance building where the shooting occurred is just east of Ohio Stadium, where the school’s football team plays.
