Rolling Stones Songs

Rolling Stones Songs, The American Idol top 12 finalists sing Rolling Stones covers in the March 16 show � check out the recap of what each of the finalists sing. Who was your favorite? Michael Lynche � talks about growing up and being a football player, the death of his mom, and how music saved him. We get to see the new baby! Big Mike sings "Miss You" � Randy said he wasn't so crazy when the arrangement started, but said Mike slayed it. Ellen said it was the way to start the night, amazing. Kara said he delivered tonight, was hot on stage. Simon said the dancing was corny, but he sang it well; verging at times as desperate.


Didi Benami � talks about moving to LA, she's a middle child and the artistic/dreamy one. Her mom says she was high needs; mom is out supporting her in Los Angeles. Didi sings "Play with Fire" � Randy said it was one of her best performances. Ellen said she sounded great. Kara liked the intensity and darkness she brought to the song, said it was two steps in the right direction. Simon said she's beginning to show the artist she wants to be and said he's been a fan of hers.


Casey James � said his parents divorced when he was young and his mom raised him. Casey was hospitalized and his mom worried, but said he would hum before he spoke, so she knew he was okay. Casey's family is musical too. He sings "It's All Over Now" � Randy said he's back to the Casey that he loves and said he's back. Ellen said it was fantastic. Kara said tonight he was a rock star, said the song showed soul and was his best performance. Simon said he looks great and sang it great, but thought it was like an audition performance.


Lacey Brown � grew up in a small town, with a supportive family. Her parents are pastors and dad explains how she's shy but taking charge on Idol and is so proud. Lacey sings "Ruby Tuesday" � Randy said he was pleasantly surprised and said she held it together. Ellen comments on her movements, said she's a fan of Lacey's. Kara said there were issues with hitting the notes and thinks she can do better. Simon said she performs like an actress, said the song was okay, but feels like she needs to stop overthinking it.


Andrew Garcia � talks more about how his dad is a musician and singer; dad thought Andrew would be a custodian! Dad is proud. Mom is silent. Andrew sings "Gimme Shelter" � Randy said he loves the song, loves Andrew, but it was pitchy and not great. Ellen said it was his best performance yet and loved it. Kara said it's a song about war and she wanted to feel that, but most of the time didn't feel the connection. Simon is in the middle; said he was better in rehearsal and something didn't quite connect, but he hopes Andrew survives another week.


Katie Stevens � mom says she's a happy, loving kid; Katie claims she was shy when she was younger, but her mom says she's a ham. Then mom drags out video of Katie singing at a wedding… yikes. Katie sings "Wild Horses" � Randy said she sang it well and thought it was a strong performance. Ellen said it started pitchy but said she sounded amazing once she got into it. Kara said she liked how Katie made some nice variations on the melody and it was better than last week. Simon said it was the only week where she chose a strong song, said it was a clever choice.


Tim Urban � he grew up in a family of 10 kids; they play football together and his parents said little Tim was mistaken for a girl. Tim's enjoying his time in the spotlight. He sings "Under My Thumb" � Randy said it was bizarre and he didn't really like it, said it was weird. Ellen said she felt like she was at a resort and said he sounded great, but it didn't wow her. Kara said she applauds him for doing something different with the song, he made it his own. Simon said it didn't work and said Stones fans would be turning their TV off. Read More:::::::
