Hyderabad, Mar 29 Fresh incidents of communal violence erupted here today following which curfew was clamped in the entire south zone area in the old city even as the Centre rushed 1,800 paramilitary personnel to help police restore peace in the sensitive areas.
The situation in South Zone old city of Hyderabad has transformed from bad to worse.
Fresh incidents of violence were reported in Mogulpur, Shalibanda, Charminar, Lal Darwaza and Aliabad areas, DGP Girish Kumat said.
Incidents of stabbing, arson, stone pelting, attacks on places of worship, shops and vehicles were reported from over a dozen areas well past midnight Sunday.
Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu appealed to people to observe restraint and ensure that things did not flare up.
