Lawrence Taylor, a Hall of Fame linebacker who played for the New York Giants from 1981 to 1993 and competed on the eighth season of “Dancing With the Stars” alongside pro Edyta Sliwinska, has been arrested in a Montibello, New York rape investigation.
The Ramapo Police Department tells ET that the alleged crime took place at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, New York. Formal charges will be filed upon the completion of their investigation.
The girl texted her uncle as the pimp drove her back to the Bronx, and the pimp was subsequently taken into custody by NYPD, according to St. Lawrence.
An NYPD spokesman declined to comment and referred all calls to the Ramapo PD.
Taylor, a football icon and one of the NFL’s greatest defensive players, has a history of drug abuse and other run-ins with the law. He has tested positive for cocaine several times during his NFL career and has been arrested for buying cocaine from undercover police officers.
Taylor — a 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker for the New York Giants from 1981-1993 — was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars last year.
On the red carpet of the 2010 NFL draft Taylor was asked about what he remembered about his draft day.? He answered that he didn’t remember much because he drank 41 Coors Lights.
Lawrence Taylor was elected to the NFL Hall Of Fame in 1999.
He appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2009.
